In 1994, Mr. Underwood launched 1-888 Traffic School, Inc. in Jacksonville, FL. By 1997, it was the largest in the country with 150 locations and over 100,000 students a year. In 1999, he sold the business to a group led by Ford Motor Company and J.P. Morgan Chase. Following the end of a non-compete agreement in 2002, Ken founded National Safety Commission Inc. (NSC), an online driver education company that was recently named to the Inc. 5000 as America's 2nd fastest growing education company. Since the creation of SIH Corp, Mr. Underwood has managed the growth of NSC as well as the addition of the organizations' newest business units, including Roy's Cluband Toga Insurance.

Prior to his entrepreneurial endeavors, Ken served as a Special Project Mission Commander in the Navy where he was a decorated pilot. He is a retired pilot from American Airlines where he earned his International Captain Rating for both 757s & 767s. Ken sits on the advisory committee for Seamark Ranch and graduated cum laude from Jacksonville University in 1981 with a BS degree in Marketing, Management, and Economics.

Ken resides in Ponte Vedra Beach, FL with his wife, Ginger, and their five children.
